Turku Animated Film Festival will take place for the ninth time at the charming Manilla Cultural Factory in Turku from 21 to 25 August 2024, with a program full of fresh, bold and
beautiful animation.
The industry-favourite TAFF Pro will be back, too! The two-day event during the festival week offers a program for animation and filmmaking professionals and students.
TAFF Pro brings together Finnish and international animators. The program strives to promote the vitality of the animation field and offers new ideas and contacts to industry
players and students.
This year TAFF Pro focuses on adaptations and animation. On Thursday, screenwriter Leo Viirret holds a lecture and workshop about storytelling based on personal yet universal truths. On Friday TAFF Pro starts by deepening the theme with scriptwriting-oriented keynotes by the Swedish animator Niki Lindroth von Bahr and the animation director Katariina Lillqvist. The day continues with a panel discussion moderated by Mika Koskinen, including Lindroth von Bahr, writer-director Katja Kettu and filmmaker CHRZU. TAFF Pro closes with Adapted Classics – a screening of classic stories adapted to animation films.
