The Finnish Animation Guild’s project Nordic animation Pitching is progressing. Project coordinators Hämid Shajarian and Petri Järvinen presented the project at FAF’s “Meet the festivals” event.
“We were part of FAF’s festival program thanks to “Meet the festivals”. We got to present the project and our plan was well received. Several young directors came to praise the fact that such an event is being developed. FAF was a great event anyway. At the opening screening, Mikrofilm’s new full-length movie “Titina” was shown. On Friday there was a Production day focused on anime productions, with quite legendary anime producers as performers, e.g. Studio 4C’s Eiko Tanaka. We saw a lot of high-quality films from the Nordics and the Baltics and got to listen to interesting lectures from scriptwriting to line production. From Finland, Heikki Prepula, who was awarded an honorary award, participated in the program, and his production was widely presented. Leena Lecklin lectured about Gigglebug’s new Yellow Yeti series in the “New Nordic animation” section. Thank you to FAF for a great event and it was an honor to participate in representing the Animation Guild”, says Petri Järvinen.
The planning of the Nordic Animation Pitching event will continue until the end of the year, and the event itself will take place in Helsinki in the spring of 2023. The conceptualization of the project has been made possible by the Finnish Arts Promotion Center TAIKE.
